Cast Stretch Film

Stretch film main characteristics are strength, stretchability and stickiness. There are two different types of stretch film, blown and cast.

Cast film is manufactured by a process called co-extrusion, which gives a multi-layer film. This type of film can be produced with different characteristics in each layer to give different benefits i.e. puncture resistance, cling etc.

Cast films have high clarity and this is important where product needs to be seen or bar codes have to be scanned through the wrap. Cast films can be unwound with very low noise level whereas Cast film is usually preferred for semi-automatic pallet wrappers because it is low noise and the stickiness of blown film can be detrimental to the working of the machine. Stretch film is available in hand rolls and machine rolls.
